Making the difference

Working to improve our enviroment

Sustainability

Lorne Stewart Group intends to provide the best M&E Services experience to our clients and customers while simultaneously working to improve the environmental social and economic aspects of the world in which we operate.

Our vision becomes reality by putting into action programs and practices that reduce the use of natural resources, optimise energy efficient products and technologies and foster innovations and creative solutions that add value for our clients, communities and our planet. We actively promote the employment of local supply chain partnerships to reduce carbon footprints whilst supporting local communities.

Our 5 Star sustainability policy...

We define sustainability as meeting current needs without compromising the future. To achieve these aims, we embrace the 'Triple bottom line' principal, with social; environmental and economic needs forming the cornerstones of our business ethos.

Enhancing our sustainability skills through SCSS

Launched in 2012, the Supply Chain Sustainability School is a multi-award winning initiative and industry recognised accreditation which represents a common approach to addressing sustainability within our supply chains.

Lorne Stewart Group currently holds the Silver level of membership and we are currently working hard to achieve Gold status.

With more than 13,000 members, the School provides free practical support in the form of e-learning modules, tailored self-assessment and action plans, sustainability training and networking opportunities.

Renewable energy solutions...

We design, supply, install and maintain renewable energy solutions such a solar thermal hot water generation, photovoltaic’s, combined heat and power systems and sustainable plant such as biomass heating systems. Water reclamation is a regular feature on our sites, coupled with water leak detection to control use and mitigate abuse of our valued primary energy sources.

Company Vehicles
Our van fleet has recently been upgraded to meet Euro 5 and 6 standards. Our van fleet is 85% recyclable and 95% recoverable at the end of life. Where possible, deliveries to our sites are also minimised. All our fleet vehicles are GPS tracked to ensure the most efficient routes are utilised.

ISO 14001 Enviromental Management System...

Environmental issues have become increasingly higher on our agenda. We fully accept our responsibilities to help care for our planet as a legacy to future generations. Our policies are designed to continually improve the way we operate in accordance with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. Lorne Stewart has held ISO 14001 since 2008.

Waste management

We aim to avoid waste and where we are unable to, we utilise reusable packaging which is returned to our supply chain. Wiring off-cuts are used to create standard length wiring looms. Where waste is produced, waste recycling is now common place on our construction sites.
